Strobe SOS Flashlight is a utility app that uses only your phone's flash. It does not require an account, a login, or any personal information from you.
The flashlight itself works without internet, but the free version shows ads, described below. Ads are served by Google AdMob and may use your device's advertising identifier. Beyond ads, the app transmits no information about you.
The app does not collect personal information directly. The only information processed is the following, and only by Google AdMob in order to serve ads:
We do not collect your name, email, phone number, address, contacts, photos, files, health information, precise location, or browsing history. None of that information is sent to any third party.
We do not send crash logs, stack traces, app performance data, network request logs, or any diagnostic telemetry. If the app crashes, that is not reported anywhere.
The information is used exclusively to:
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing. We do not use any data for advertising beyond what AdMob already does on its own.
The free version shows Google AdMob ads, as a banner on the main screen and as an app-open ad when you return to the app. Google's SDK may collect your device advertising identifier and ad interaction data, as described in Google's Privacy Policy and advertising policies. Ads may be personalized based on your device and your activity in the app.
The paid version of the app contains no ads and no AdMob SDK.
Until September 25, 2026, this app included a third-party diagnostics agent to report errors and crashes. That agent has been removed. The app no longer contains any telemetry library, and no performance data leaves your device.
If you used earlier versions, no action is needed. New versions of the flashlight work exactly the same, just without sending diagnostics.
The app requests these permissions:
Flashlight apps need fewer permissions than most, because there is no camera, microphone, location, contacts, or storage. The flashlight is controlled directly through the flash hardware, without opening the camera.
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and follows industry-standard security practices. We do not store credentials or personal data on our servers.
We do not keep a database of user data, nor any server that receives information about who uses the app. Ad data is retained by the respective advertisers and by Google's AdMob network according to their policies.
You can reset your Advertising ID, limit tracking at the device level, or delete ad data in your device settings. There is no diagnostic data of ours to delete, because we send none.
The app itself does not use cookies. Google's AdMob SDK may use device identifiers for advertising and analytics, as described in Google's policy linked in section 4.
This app is not directed at children or adolescents under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children. We do not allow personalized ads to users under 13.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes through an app update or on this page.
